Promoting Patriotism, Citizenship, and Respect for Our Nation’s Heritage
Americanism is one of the Four Pillars of The American Legion. Through
education, remembrance, youth leadership, public service, and community
participation, Charles Earnest Scott American Legion Post 47 works to
strengthen responsible citizenship and preserve the values represented
by the United States flag and Constitution.
What Americanism Means
Americanism is more than displaying the flag or attending a patriotic
ceremony. It includes understanding our nation’s history, respecting the
Constitution, participating responsibly in civic life, and remembering
the sacrifices made to protect our freedoms.
Post 47 promotes these values by working with veterans, students, schools,
families, civic organizations, and community partners throughout Dodge
City and Ford County.
